Job Overview:
AIM World Services is seeking an experienced Asphalt Batch Plant Technician to join our team on Tinian Island. This position is crucial for supporting the operation and maintenance of the site's asphalt batch plant, ensuring the quality of asphalt materials produced for various construction projects. The Asphalt Batch Plant Technician will report directly to the Asphalt Batch Plant Lead and work as part of a light construction crew (LCC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate asphalt batch plant components to weigh and mix aggregate, asphalt, and other materials for road construction projects.
- Perform maintenance and ensure the cleanliness of the batch plant.
- Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventative maintenance, as well as reactive maintenance, to ensure the plant remains in optimal condition.
- Take samples and perform tests to ensure 100% quality of asphalt materials.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning safely and efficiently, and report any issues to the proper personnel for resolution.
- Assist in maintaining adequate levels of supplies and materials.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date reports on plant operations and performance.
- Adhere to and comply with all company safety, environmental, and quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Assist with other construction-related duties as needed when not working directly on the batch plant.
- Follow all safety regulations and procedures at all times, ensuring the safety of the workplace is a top priority.
- Minimum of one (1) year of verifiable experience operating and maintaining asphalt or concrete batch plants, preferably in an overseas or OCONUS setting.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt batching technology, tools, equipment, and maintenance practices.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in English to meet job requirements and follow safety and security protocols.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a favorable Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) certification before hire and maintain it throughout the duration of the contract.
- Ability to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on batch plants, keeping detailed records.
Desired Qualifications:
- Overseas experience in asphalt batching, preferably in remote or Middle Eastern locations.
- Previous experience with AIM World Services or U.S. Department of State programs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to project goals.
- Excellent customer service skills, with cross-cultural sensitivity and an international perspective.
- Innovative problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
