Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard. The Carpenter will utilize carpenter's hand tools and power tools while adhering to local building codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Studying blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material requirements and structure dimensions.
- Selecting appropriate lumber or materials and preparing layouts.
- Marking, cutting and assembly lines on materials.
- Shaping materials to prescribed measurements using saws, chisels, and planes.
- Assembling and fastening materials together with nails, dowel pins, or glue.
- Verifying the trueness of structures with a plumb bob and carpenter's level.
- Erecting framework for structures, laying sub-flooring, building stairs, and installing partitions.
- Education: High school diploma / GED equivalent
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role.
- Proficiency in using carpenter's hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, or building plans.
- Strong knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills.
- Journey level certification or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years related experience.
