Pay Range: $20.80 - $33.80 / hour

Position Overview:
Follows clearly defined bone density radiographic procedures to deliver high quality images to our Osteoporosis physicians and other health care providers for the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of injury or disease. Integrates education, technical competence and patient interaction skills to execute safe and precise procedures to deliver accurate results. Adheres to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.
Skills and Knowledge:
- General knowledge of diagnostic bone density radiographic principles, procedures, and radiation safety as well as the operation and maintenance of bone density equipment.
- Capable of performing all bone density examinations, such as general DXA scan, VFA, whole body, and pediatric scans, as well as a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Evaluates bone density scans for image quality, positioning, comparison, and completeness.
- Possess solid written and verbal communications skills to explain any limitations of a scan to the reading physicians.
- Need to adhere to standardized policies, procedures, and practices to obtain the best quality and precise bone density scans.
- Able to perform cross calibration and precision studies when needed for accreditation.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Radiology (RIS), Cerner (EHR), picture archive and communication system (PACS), Clickview, and TBS.
- Ensure the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI).

Job Description:
Under the direction of a radiologist, to perform radiological procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. To perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. To assume responsibility for designated areas of procedures as required. May be assigned a variety of other duties by department management to include, but not limited to: patient escort services, quality control and participation in a variety of training and committee work, including maintenance of accreditation according to the ARRT.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in radiography or registry eligible required. Must become registered within one year of hire date. CPR certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of employment. One (1) year experience in general radiography preferred.
