SUMMARY
BLUvera, Mortenson's vertically integrated manufacturing and fabrication affiliate, utilizes advanced design, engineering, 3D modeling, and manufacturing to deliver a safer, faster, and more predictable experience to the built environment. By utilizing DfMA principles (design for manufacturing and assembly), BLUvera leverages technology in the manufacture and fabrication of off-site construction products- enabling our customers to realize the schedule and cost savings that the industrialized process creates. BLUvera's Business Development Executive role involves collaborating with market leaders across all Mortenson Operating Groups to develop and implement effective positioning strategies to secure project work with existing and potential customers. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the organization's capabilities, enabling them to identify and influence key opportunities that position the organization as a strategic partner within the Operating Groups.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the positioning strategies and sales efforts of the BLUvera business development team, driving pursuit initiatives and overall sales performance.
- Participate in strategic business planning; developing strategic positioning plan for company and project pursuits to win work
- Create and produce internal and external communications, marketing/branding/advertising materials and presentations
- Initiate customer feedback on proposals and presentations
- Function as the liaison between Internal Customer, Project Management, and Design Phase
- Provide insight into market sectors; perform market trends analysis
- Identify potential new products through partnering with internal customers
Establish and nurture strategic business partnerships and customer relationships
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential partners including, but not limited to: targeted customers, design professionals, partner companies, community leaders, and engineering firms
- Identify new market sector opportunities and potential future customers and convert them to contacts
- Become familiar with customer's project estimates to facilitate discussion with customer
- Complete Request for Proposals with 100% accuracy and compliance with the owner's specifications
- Identify and build relationships with potential external customers
Play an integral role in the development team
- Take work direction, utilize training, and complete performance reviews
- Use the appropriate level of forethought and planning in decision-making to ensure project success
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
- Proven customer relationship-building skills, with developed local/regional business knowledge and relationships
- Proven knowledge and execution of successful marketing strategies
- Detail orientation sufficient for data entry, reporting, financial projections for sales and selections, and market analysis
- Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent CRM web application skills
- Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
- Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies
- Current driver's license
- Ability to travel up to 30%
- Experience working in the Construction Industry, ideally with Industrial and Commercial Contractors - preferred
- Ability to partner with internal customers and negotiate mutually beneficial agreements that benefit all parties involved and the broader organization
- Minimum five years prior industry-related business development experience - preferred
- Position based out of BLUvera's location in St. Paul, MN, preferred

The base pay range for this role is $164,000 - $246,000. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
