Position: Service Manager (Agriculture/Turf)

Purpose: Manages service operations within the dealership to ensure customer satisfaction and maximize return on investment by optimizing service department processes. Grows profitable service labor sales and exercises disciplined expense control. Attracts, retains, and assists with development of department personnel.
Responsibilities:
Develops, communicates, enforces and monitors effective Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
Assists Aftermarket Manager in creating annual Service Department goals and budget, in alignment with the organization's financial and operational objectives.
Works with Aftermarket Manager to develop, execute and monitor Service Department marketing plan to ensure achievement of departmental goals.
Identify and drive continuous service and parts process improvements.
Identify new opportunities and develop actionable plans to grow service and parts sales while maintaining disciplined expense control.
Identify and improve operational effectiveness of the department's mobile vehicles and other assets.
Coordinates customer clinics, field days and related promotional events.
Ensures that all service warranty and Product Improvement Program claims are submitted within the required timeframe to receive maximum credit.
Schedules and assigns job and work areas to employees in the Service Department according to their skills and knowledge.
Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing
Prepares and analyzes Service department reports; uses data to help drive improvement and growth.
Resource for Service to help resolve invoice issues and customer complaints.
Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
Ensures departmental tools, equipment and vehicles are in good working order.
Assist Aftermarket Manager recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position.
Adhere and promote all Safety guidelines set forth by organization.
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
3+ years experience in Service Department Operations preferred.
1+ years experience in Parts Department Operations preferred
Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of turf equipment.
Basic understanding of financial principles relative to the Service and Parts Department operations.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid Driver's license.
The salary range for this position is $60k-$75k depending on experience.
