Skilled Technician II (3rd Shift) - Military Veterans

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Skilled Technician – Level II to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Forest City, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:





  • Support Manufacturing Needs : Perform skilled activities that directly support the manufacturing business, using appropriate tools and equipment with minimal guidance.


  • Ensure Safety Compliance : Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards by reporting hazards, using personal protective equipment, and engaging in HSE training.


  • Maintain High Quality Standards : Apply high standards of workmanship, support equipment uptime, and perform quality inspections to ensure product excellence.


  • Optimize Equipment Performance : Conduct preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability and efficiency.


  • Promote a Safe Work Environment : Recognize and correct hazards, promote interdependence among colleagues, and minimize environmental impact through safe practices.


  • Enhance Process Efficiency : Work with peers to identify and reduce manufacturing constraints, solve problems, and participate in continuous improvement activities.


  • Communicate Effectively : Maintain clear communication with your team and support staff, ensuring smooth operations and collaboration.


  • Contribute to Team Development : Participate in training and personal development, and actively engage with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) teams to improve quality, safety, and processes.

Education/Experience





  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.


  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.


  • Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.




QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information





  • Ability to weld and achieve weld certification within facility


  • Familiarity with systems and payout processing


  • Ability to follow SWI and manufacturing instruction guides for placement of welds, booth and equipment set ups, and validation checks


  • Performs daily start of shift and end of shift prep and cleanup activities including DOM checks, 1 st piece checks, general daily 5S


  • Effectively communicates with leadership, quality, engineers in order to support and perform to highest standards


  • Competent using excel logging quality rework and rework performed to track performance overtime


  • Familiar axle manufacturing and bracket welding material


  • Ability to communicate via email, text, phone with hourly staff and leadership staff


  • Ability to work posted OT schedule and ability to adapt to needs as necessary


  • Ability to adapt and work flexible daily schedule: Weld, Dowel Weld, Weld rework support, etc.


  • Performs other related activities as assigned
