Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties: The College of Education and School of Teaching and Learning at Sam Houston State University invites applications to the Eleanor and Charles Garrett Endowed Chair for Special Education position. We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual who can inspire and mentor future and current educators. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in special education research, teaching, and service. The ideal candidate will have the desire and ability to contribute to new and existing programs. This position can begin Spring 2025 or Fall 2025. Other Specifications/Instructions for the Position: The special education program offers undergraduate courses and two master's degrees, Master of Education in Special Education and Master of Arts in Special Education. The Department offers a doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Special Education track. The School of Teaching and Learning offers courses on the main campus, at The Woodlands Center, and online.
