The Department of Kinesiology of the Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences at Texas Christian University (TCU) invites applicants for a 9-month tenure-stream position at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The area of specialization is open, but should preferably align with, or complement existing departmental expertise in one or more of the following areas: biomechanics, exercise physiology, human performance, motor behavior, physical activity and health, and sport and exercise psychology. Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to teach at the undergraduate and M.S. levels, with the possibility of teaching in the Ph.D. program in Health Sciences. Candidates should have an active research program that includes publications in top-tier journals. A record of external funding is required for consideration at the level of Associate or Full Professor. Individuals applying to the Assistant level, should have existing or potential avenues for pursuing external funding. Candidates will also support the development and evolution of the department, advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, serve on departmental-, college- and university-level committees, and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate should also actively uphold TCUs teacher-scholar model. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Qualifications: Minimum requirement is an earned doctorate in Kinesiology or related discipline. Applicants should have a record of scholarly work and the ability to develop a focused independent research agenda with current or strong potential for external funding. Teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels is highly desirable. Department Details: The Department of Kinesiology offers B.S. and M.S. degree in Kinesiology, an M.S. degree in Athletic Training, and a Ph.D. degree in Health Sciences through Harris College. The department has strong existing ties with TCUs Departments of Athletics, Biology, and Nutrition, as well as TCUs Burnett School of Medicine. School/College Description: The Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences consists of programs that prepare future health care and human services professionals. The academic units within Harris College Communication Sciences & Disorders, Kinesiology, Nurse Anesthesia, Nursing and Social Work are home to more than 1,750 students who are supported by committed and talented faculty and staff.
