7 Vacant Positions The graduate assistant will be an integral part of the research team. With guidance and training the GAR will conduct research and may complete research writings and presentations. The GAR may lead a team of peers or undergraduates to complete research. Responsibilities: Conduct a comprehensive literature review on the topics related to the thrust area and the Center's research and other areas as needed. Conduct high-quality research on wastewater (poultry processing wastewater, produced water from oil and gas fracking operations, and others as needed) treatment using hybrid (forward-reverse osmosis) membranes (with various materials and surface treatments). Participate in the Center's educational and outreach activities, including workshops and seminars. Perform other duties as needed to assist the center director and the research team. Required Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in an applicable field. Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine (9) graduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done. Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least three (3) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term. Preferred Education and Experience: At least 25 credit hours in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, Agriculture, Chemistry, or related science field. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Some experience in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, Agriculture, Chemistry or related science field.
