The Department of Computational, Engineering, and Mathematical Sciences at Texas A&M University-San Antonio (A&M-SA) seeks applications from qualified candidates, with a passion for teaching, for a full-time non-tenure-track Lecturer position in Mathematics beginning in Fall 2025. Area of specialization is open, but an ability to teach introductory college mathematics courses is required. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach Dual Credit/Early College High School students enrolled in those courses, either on the university campus or in local high schools. Excellence in teaching, and ability and willingness to collaborate with colleagues on improving success rates in entry-level mathematics courses is expected. Contribution to improving student success in entry level mathematics courses is a high priority for the institution. The base teaching load at A&M-SA for lecturers is 5/5; reassigned time for service is possible. Summer teaching assignments may be available but are not guaranteed. This is a position that requires teaching in person on campus, though a few courses may be taught online. A&M-SA is a comprehensive regional university with nearly 8,000 students (Fall 2024) enrolled in undergraduate programs and select graduate programs. It has transformed rapidly into a growing urban university during the past decade. Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications. Required Qualifications: A Masters degree in Mathematics or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution. All concentration areas will be considered. A minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics or a closely related field. Teaching at the university level. Excellent teaching and communication skills. Preferred Experience: Prior experience teaching Dual Credit/Early College High School courses or high school teaching experience. Experience in improving student success in entry-level mathematics courses. Experience collaborating with faculty on projects geared toward students academic success.
