Position Summary: The Rice360 Institute for Global Health Technologies (Rice360), a multi-disciplinary institute at Rice University, is a leader in global health technology education, research, and implementation, with a distinctive focus on experiential and problem-based learning. Rice360 develops highly effective, low-cost healthcare solutions addressing critical healthcare needs in underserved communities and educates a cadre of future leaders to continue to innovate and implement solutions. Rice360 works closely with partners in underserved communities throughout the world, including low- and middle-income countries and the United States. Rice360 is a lead member of the Newborn Essential Solutions and Technologies (NEST360) alliance. The NEST360 alliance is working with African governments to transform hospital newborn care by installing a bundle of rugged devices, educating clinicians to use devices and biomedical engineers to maintain them, and implementing locally-owned data dashboards to drive uptake and quality. Rice360 is seeking a NEST360 Technical Advisory Team (TAT) Coordinator who will bring deep experience to a variety of program coordination and administrative matters of strategic importance for the institute. S/he will create and implement plans, processes, and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient functionality of the NEST360 TAT to support the success of strategic priorities, including overseeing and coordinating logistical planning, implementation, and management of large-scale, complex meetings and events. S/he will manage special projects, as needed, and support NEST360 engagement and management of external partnerships. S/he will also support various administrative functions for the NEST360 TAT, such as travel support, both domestic and international, and other duties as assigned. In this role, the incumbent is a key liaison and representative of NEST360 to diverse constituents, from Rice University faculty and staff to NEST360 partner organization representatives from academia, government, and industry. The NEST360 TAT Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Rice360 Director of Strategic Initiatives, as well as support requests from the NEST360 TAT. The ideal candidate is highly organized, with a demonstrated ability to multi-task, make prudent decisions using creative problem-solving and sound judgment, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. S/he is experienced in providing administrative and operations support to executive leadership in an academic and/or non-profit setting. S/he has superior interpersonal-skills and tact, including hosting high-profile visitors and supporting complex international travel. This is a full-time position (M-F 9am-6pm, with occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work required to accommodate time zone differences for important meetings with teams in the US, UK, and across sub-Saharan Africa), based in sub-Saharan Africa and may require international travel to NEST360 network. Location of the Position: Sub-Saharan Africa Hiring Range: $60,000 - $70,000/year, contingent upon qualifications and experience This position is funded by a grant, soft and/or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of funding.
