Job Summary: Assistant Director for Accounting and Finance directs, manages, plans, and coordinates accounting and finance operations for Extension and Extended Campus. Provides financial support and direction for programs and business units. Prepares annual budgets and develops financial reports for business unit leaders and division leadership. Directs grant budgeting procedures and reviews contracts. Supervises finance managers and accounting team. Salary is starting at $85,000. Essential Duties: Oversee all aspects of financial operations, ensuring alignment with institutional policies and strategic objectives. Lead initiatives that enhance financial performance and operational efficiency across the Division. Develop comprehensive annual budgets that reflect the strategic goals of the Division. Conduct regular analysis of budget performance, providing forecasts and variance reports to inform decision-making. Proactively initiate budget revisions to respond to changing financial conditions. Lead the grant budgeting process, ensuring compliance with funding agency regulations. Collaborate with various business units and campus accounting departments to facilitate seamless budget implementation, adjustments, and timely grant closeout procedures. Design and produce a range of financial reports, both regular and ad-hoc, to provide stakeholders with insights into financial performance. Analyze data to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations to enhance financial management. Lead a high-performing accounting team by providing guidance, training, and performance reviews. Foster a culture of accountability and professional growth, ensuring team members are equipped to meet the Division's financial goals. Serve as a key resource for program staff, offering expertise and guidance on accounting and finance-related issues. Assist in developing financial strategies that align with program objectives and enhance overall operational effectiveness. Conduct thorough reviews of contracts to ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Provide strategic input on contract procedures and actively monitor contract execution, tracking key terms and milestones to mitigate risks. Collaborate with Division leadership in strategic planning initiatives, ensuring financial considerations are integrated into overall strategies. Provide insights and recommendations that align financial management with the Division's long-term objectives. Flexibly undertake additional responsibilities as needed, demonstrating a commitment to the Division's mission and goals. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field with a minimum of five (5) years of experience with accounting and finance software systems, budgeting software systems, and payment applications or related experience in a state agency or institution of higher education. Three (3) years supervisory experience. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field.
