You will be a Senior Sheet Metal Operator for our team, responsible for fabricating and altering sheet metal components according to specifications. Our team is dedicated to producing high-quality products that meet precise tolerances and requirements.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Senior Sheet Metal Operator, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Lays out work, establishing necessary reference points, center lines and guide lines, make necessary allowance for bends, machining, measures with scale, calipers and micrometers and uses scribers, center punch, surface gage, dividers, etc. to mark material
• Performs necessary hand operations, such as filing, scraping, straightening, mechanical assembly etc.
• Programs, sets up and operates numerical control equipment, bending rolls and machines, power and hand shears, Do-All saws, brakes, nibblers, punch press, turret punch press, drill presses, radial drills, etc. and various hand grinders to shape and alter sheet metal according
to specifications
• Uses various types of hand tools, such as files, hammers, scrapers, wrenches, etc. and various measuring instruments such as plug gages, snap gages, indicators, verniers, micrometers, depth gages, etc.
• Interprets CAD data, prints and sketches and can follow written manufacturing instructions (MI's) and/or verbal instructions
• Performs minor preventive maintenance to equipment
• Performs other job-related duties as required by management
• Maintains workstation/cell in organized manner and in compliance with any applicable safety standards
• Receives and, when assigned, provides cross-training for other tasks related to department functions and procedures.

Basic Qualifications:
• Must understand the cutting properties of both ferrous and non-ferrous materials
• Experience calculating dimensions and tolerances and inspecting parts using required precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers and protractors to ensure they meet blueprint specifications
• Proficient using hand tools for deburring and metal finishing
• Knows the difference between hot and cold rolled steels, aluminum and stainless steel and makes adjustments accordingly
• Ability to use various types of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and thickness measuring equipment
• Can read and understand complex blueprints and sketches with respect to various assembly and metals forming and differentiation between thread sizes, pitch, metric and standard threads
• U.S. citizenship, as this position is located at a facility that requires special access
Desired Skills:
• Experience in set up and operating conventional brake press, shear, band saw, sanders, deburring/buffing
machinery
• Experience programming, setting up and operating conventional and CNC brake press for fabrication of precision formed components
• CNC machining experience
• Operated PEM machines, CNC Punch Presses, Laser Cutters, Spot welder, Tapping machines and vertical drill presses

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
