Job Summary and Qualifications
The Division Safety Director is responsible for the implementation, and oversight of the FacilitiGroup Regulatory and Safety Management Program for all hospitals and associated FSEDs in their division. Primary focus will be on continuous survey readiness for the Joint Commission Environment of Care and Life Safety chapters. The Division Safety Director will perform in-depth site assessments, review and critique regulatory documentation, educate and assist facilities on code-required performance and activities to ensure compliance with the Joint Commission, OSHA, Federal EPA, State Health Agencies, and other authorities having jurisdiction. The role will partner with division and facility leadership, EOC teams, Division Vice President of Quality, division facility management services, and FacilitiGroup team members. The Director shall provide strategic direction and effective management of compliance activities for improvement through establishment of best practices, streamlined reporting and response processes. The director shall ensure that the appropriate regulatory activities are correctly tracked in HCA Healthcare’s compliance platform (Complyos) and Engineering Central, as well as, educating relevant teams on changes to systems and compliance code standards
Major Responsibilities:
- Implement and monitor division-wide the standardized regulatory and safety management programs
- Provide oversight to ensure each facility complies with the Joint Commission, CMS, Federal EPA, OSHA, state agency, and other AHJ standards
- Perform a physical life safety assessment at each facility and make recommendations based on findings
- Ensure regular EOC meetings are performed in a compliant manner at all facilities in division
- Implement the standardize compliance activity education and processes for regulatory and safety for facility management teams for continual survey readiness
- Action plan collaborations based on survey or site visit findings, with appropriate teams per program parameters
- Review HCA Healthcare’s compliance platform database to ensure documentation has been uploaded for each facility
- Educate and assist facilities on technology platform processes and ensure regulatory assets are up to date
- Ensure all changes as a result of new construction, renovations, aqcuisitions and divestetures are properly reflected in all regulatory documentation and tracking platforms
- Educate facilities on ILSM, ICRA, and other construction documentation practices
- Develop continuing education plan to keep facility staff up-do-date on code requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.”
Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree , Required
- Bachelors Degree , Preferred
- 5+ years of experience in hospital regulatory compliance, Required
- Must be willing to travel up to 75% within market
- NFPA Certified Life Safety Specialist (CLSS-HC), Preferred
