Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:
The Business Services Coordinator administers and coordinates fiscal budget and business related duties. This position interacts with a broad cross section of the UNCW community from university executives, academic leadership (vice chancellors, deans, directors, etc.) staff, students and vendors as well as candidates for faculty and staff/executive positions. This position also provides support to the functional units and the schools and colleges within Academic Affairs.
Responsibilities Include:
- Establishing budget setup, purchasing transactions, journal entries, budget revisions and reconciliations to resolve the needs of the Provost Office.
- Interpreting and evaluating applicable policies, procedures and information systems in order to communicate and process information.
- Budget management, report writing, summarizing and reconciling information or financial data, records and facilities management, personnel administration and closely related functions in general, trust and auxiliary funds.
- Supporting the Director of Academic Resource Management and team in the operations of the Provost unit as needed.
- This position secondarily supports the functional units and the schools and colleges within Academic Affairs.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
- Banner and Sciquest uShop experience as well as experience in a university setting.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Demonstrated excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including, experience with advanced formulas and pivot tables.
- Ability to manage and prioritize a wide variety of tasks and meet deadlines in a timely fashion.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of university administration, faculty, and students.
- Ability to perform and conduct oneself with a high degree of maturity, discretion, and integrity to handle sensitive planning and personal information, and preserve the confidentiality of the same.
- A dedication to providing timely and effective customer service.
