Post-Doctoral Associate - Neutrino Experiments (Furmanski) - Military Veterans

The University of Minnesota Intensity Frontier group has significant involvement in neutrino experiments at the intensity frontier, including DUNE, NOvA, MicroBooNE/SBN, and T2K/HK.
The group is currently responsible for the construction of scintillating detector modules for the DUNE near detector, with analysis efforts in a number of areas in the existing neutrino experiments (such as MicroBooNE/SBN)
The successful applicant is expected to participate in a variety of hardware, software and physics analysis activities with a considerable amount of freedom in choosing research topics. It is anticipated that the position will be based at the University of Minnesota â" Twin Cities campus with travel to various locations required for research, including Fermilab and CERN
JOB DUTIES:
70%: Research, divided between DUNE, MicroBooNE, and SBN
10% Supervision of graduate students and/or undergraduates participating in relevant research.
10%: Communicating research to the broader community by writing papers, submitting them for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Giving presentations at universities and laboratories and presenting results at domestic and international conferences.
10% Other duties of a similar scope as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD in high energy or nuclear physics, or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with the design and construction of particle detectors.
Experience analyzing data from operating particle physics experiments.
