We are seeking Shipping Specialist for the following shifts:
First Shift: 5:00 am - 1:30 pm
Second Shift: 1:15 pm - 9:45 pm
Pay Rate: $18.00/hour+ depending on shift and experience.
The Shipping Specialist will p erform various duties related to the shipping function to expedite all deliveries to customers at the request of the customer. Perform all tasks with safety and quality in mind and in accordance with established procedures and process instructions. Take necessary action to minimize delay time and maximize production.
What You'll Do:
- Exhibit superior safety practices every day evidenced by outstanding housekeeping at all times.
- Extend treatment to all other employees of the Company as individuals with courtesy and dignity shown to customers.
- Exceed customer quality and service expectations through attention to detail.
- Exercise maximum care to protect the environment by fostering and supporting responsible operating procedures.
- Perform shipping and receiving functions for all castings and other materials crossing the loading dock. Perform these duties in a timely and efficient manner and complete all appropriate shipping documentation.
- Follow part specific instructions for shipping (bar codes, certification count, etc.). Prepare bills of lading accordingly.
- Determine when shipment is ready for shipping, prepare the order and ship in accordance with the shipping schedule.
- Contact common carrier, paint source, customer or Grede trucks, as appropriate, to arrange for transportation.
- Compare actual casting weights to the weights of the computer OEST program. Report discrepancies to the Production Control Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer shipping instructions.
- Notify appropriate departments of material delivery.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner.
- Communicate suggestions and recommend solutions to problems.
- Secure proper tools for each task.
- Communicate suggestions and recommend solutions to problems to provide for an efficient operation.
- Approach work assignments in a positive manner and function as a team member.
- Perform other assignments as may be requested.
What We Need from You:
- Requires decimals and fractions, drawings and formulas, adjustable measuring instruments.
- Over three months, up to one year of experience.
- Some judgment to comply with instructions, follow methods, make minor decisions.
- Good attendance is required.
- Must have computer experience.
- Must have fast paced forklift experience.
