Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel South Carolina (Darlington) is seeking a Metallurgist interested in taking on a technical role based upon the needs of the plant and the candidates experience. Job functions could range from process/product metallurgy, product/process improvements, problem-solving projects throughout the facility, and customer complaints and claims resolution. Other functions may include grade development for specialized applications, provide training to teammates, metallurgical assistance to technical service representatives and customers, and continuous improvement of the quality management system. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Metallurgy, Material Science, or a related engineering discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in relevant production and steelmaking processes.
- Previous leadership experience.
