Study Coordinator | Albert Einstein College of Medicine - Military Veterans

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Position Summary The Study Coordinator will assist the Principal Investigator with the recruitment of study participants and collection of data for a NIH-funded study. For this project, we will be using a mixed-methods, multi-informant approach to characterize childhood suicide ideation and expressions of distress among children. We aim to recruit a sample of 150 children, ages 8 through 12, who have recently thought about or attempted suicide, along with their caregivers, from Emergency Departments (EDs) in New York City and Austin, Texas. Families will complete three assessments, baseline (within two weeks from the ED admission), and 3 and 6 months later. Caregivers can be fluent in English or Spanish. Starting at the beginning of 2025, we will recruit families for 3.5/4 years. Responsibilities: Implement study protocols; Perform data collection and quality control of study data; Develop recruitment methods; Oversee the process by which participants are recruited into the study; Develop and implement methods to track and follow-up with study participants; Oversee questionnaires and transcribed interviews for completeness and accuracy; Implement quality control procedures; Assist in the preparation of abstracts and grants for future studies; Develops effective written communications for the study; Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field is required. Working experience interviewing children is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish; Proficient verbal communications skills in an individual and group setting. Strong written communication skills; Demonstrates strong ability to work independently and drive projects forward; Availability to work flexible hours during weekdays (e.g., from afternoon until late evenings when needed). Minimum Salary Range USD $28.00/Hr. Maximum Salary Range USD $28.00/Hr.
