Survey Data Analyst Job #: 041553 Location Syracuse, NY Pay Range: $60,450 Hours: Standard University business hours 8:30am - 5:00pm (academic year) 8:00am - 4:30pm (summer) Hours may vary based on operational needs. Job Type: Full-time Job Description: This position provides support for the collection, reporting, and analysis of University guidebook and ranking surveys. The Survey Data Analyst will be responsible for keeping track of the timing and requirements for more than 30 external surveys that require the collection of data from offices across the University. The Survey Data Analyst will collate the collected data, validate the data, complete the required forms, and address any questions from internal partners and external agencies. The Survey Data Analyst will also brief senior IR staff on significant changes in data and methodologies. The Survey Data Analyst will also be responsible for tracking the results of the ranking surveys when they are published, maintaining an archive of ranking methodologies and results, and support in developing monthly briefings and deeper analyses of important rankings for senior University administrators. Qualifications: Job Specific Qualifications: Responsibilities: Intake external survey requests, review surveys for requested information, and resolve ambiguities about requested information. Work independently and with various University partners to gather required data and/or information. Validate submitted data for accuracy and consistency with previous reporting; work with campus partners to resolve or account for changes. Ensure the timely and accurate completion of institutional surveys with limited oversight. Surveys tend to be extensive and complex and are received throughout the year, with an average of 3 to 4 due each month. Identify opportunities to improve business processes related to the collection of data, propose improvements, and execute approved plans. Manage the administration of the Guidebook Database to ensure proper assignment and completion of survey questions. Review questions on an ongoing basis to assure conformity with respective surveys and add new questions as needed. Research and document published ranking results. Document methodologies and results in IR archive system. Understand changes in data and methodologies and assess their impact on ranking results to assist the University in achieving rankings goals. Communicate research results orally and in writing. Provide IR leadership with materials and initial analysis for monthly report on ranking results for senior administration Contribute to deeper analyses of high-value rankings results (e.g., US News Best Colleges, US News Best Graduate Programs) through research, data analysis, and document preparation About Syracuse University: Syracuse University is a private, international research university with distinctive academics, diversely unique offerings, and an undeniable spirit.
