Title: Electrician I/II Department: Plant Maintenance Campus Location: Arnold/Main Campus Salary Range: $44,728-$62,240 Work Mode: This position requires a full-time in-person presence on campus or at alternative locations. Hours Per Week:  40 Work Schedule:   Position Type:  Full-Time Staff,  Non-Exempt Position Summary Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and replacement of all electric equipment, devices, and fixtures used on college property Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) is committed to enriching the educational experience it offers through the diversity of its faculty, administrators, and staff members. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for any position. Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior to the 7th and 22nd. As an employee of the college, you are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package. In the best interest of the College, only individuals who are residents of Maryland or one of the following states will be eligible for employment at the college: Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia. The college will annually review this restriction and, if appropriate, expand the list of states of employment eligibility. Job Duties and Responsibilities Level I - 2 years of related experience: Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and replacing all electric equipment, devices, and fixtures used on college property. Perform all work in accordance with NFPA 70: National Electrical Code and applicable local codes. Follow established safety policies and procedures, including the use of all personal protective equipment necessary to perform duties safely. Repair or replace defective electrical switches, lighting ballasts, receptacles, motors, and associated devices, with the ability to size wire and conduit. Ability to conduct layout, perform rough-in, and complete work through trimout. Ability to install motors, controls, and equipment. Repair electrical equipment used by custodial, groundskeepers, engineers, and maintenance personnel as needed. Report, as directed during college, closed periods due to inclement weather to assist with snowstorm damage repairs and /or snow removal. Level II - 4 years of experience: All level I duties and the following: Maintain all panels and switch gears in good operating condition. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical circuits, systems and equipment. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical documents, and reference material Required Qualifications: Electrician I • High school diploma or equivalent and specialized course work or training in electrical skills. • Minimum of two years of experience Electrician II • High school diploma or equivalent and specialized course work or training in electrical skills. • Minimum of four years of experience Demonstrated knowledge and ability in all phases of electrical service and repairs. Proficient oral, written, and electronic communication skills. Ability to comprehend blueprints, schematics, and technical documents. Ability to interact professionally and effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the public. Ability to work safely and reliably with a minimum of supervision. Flexibility regarding work location, duties, hours, and shifts. Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of programming, maintenance, and repair of lighting control systems.
