System Architect - Remote - Military Veterans

Overview
The System Architect implements and governs technical architecture development and provides architectural leadership and guidance to align IT solutions and the development organization with the needs of Cotiviti's Retrieval Operations and the products which it supports. The System Architect's skills and knowledge must span the Retrieval domain and include all AWS technologies currently used, as well as those which could potentially be used by Cotiviti to enhance its Retrieval platform. The System Architect must be an expert in architecting and implementing cloud native AWS solutions incorporating NestJS and Terraform. The System Architect is expected to influence the development organization and provide expertise on software tools, frameworks, and development best practices. The System Architect serves as a mentor and role model through communication, coaching, and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities

  • Ability to translate functional requirements and strategies into solution architecture and roadmaps in collaboration with development team members and other architects.
  • Research and propose solutions for AWS data transformation, data connections, operational frameworks, and application integration.
  • Design and implement availability, scalability, and performance plans for an AWS managed service environment.
  • Implement and integrate with AWS services including but not limited to:
    • AppSync
    • CloudWatch
    • DynamoDB
    • EventBridge
    • HealthLake
    • Kinesis
    • Lambda
    • NestJS / NodeJS
    • OpenSearch
    • RDS
    • S3
    • SQS
    • Step Functions
    • Terraform
    • X-Ray
  • Support the continuous evolution of best practices and standards for cloud development.
  • Ability to architect and implement solutions that are secure by design.
  • Ensure alignment with Cotiviti cloud operational best practices and standards.
  • Coaching/training development team members as necessary to drive proficiency in required development tools.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual Performance Plan.
Qualifications
  • Hands on experience with expert knowledge in AWS resources including but not limited to:
    • VPC
    • Subnets
    • network access control lists
    • security groups
    • S3 buckets
    • IAM
    • Route 53
    • and their respective settings and best practices
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in at least two IT disciplines (such as Application/solution architecture, Technical/Infrastructure architecture, Information/Data Architecture & Business Architecture) in a multitier enterprise environment.
  • 5+ years directly leading through architecture & software design.
  • 5+ years directly development or architecture teams.
  • 5+ years working in an Agile model, SAFe preferred.
  • Ability to apply multiple solutions to business problems.
  • Prior hands-on experience with multiple programming languages.
  • Prior hands-on experience with greenfield software development.
  • Ability to estimate the financial impact of architecture alternatives.
  • Basic knowledge of financial models and budgeting.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including teamwork, facilitation, coaching, and negotiation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Base compensation ranges from $130,000 to $165,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.

This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
