Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Analyst - Military Veterans

The Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Analyst is responsible for, defining the nature of OPIR programs while dealing with the technical approach and technical definition of the Army's OPIR programs. This position requires an individual who can adapt to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a high degree of coordination with other staff members. Should be familiar with a variety of the operational / functional office concepts, practices, and procedures. Rely on experience and judgment to accomplish goals to deliver on a variety of tasks. Support the development of short-to-long range planning by developing guidance to align efforts with Army's Space Operations functions.
- Provide technical guidance regarding OPIR analysis and operations.
- Responsible for all responses to formal and informal OPIR-related requests for support and requests for information.
- Produce and disseminate finished OPIR-related Intelligence products.
- Provide briefings on OPIR products or data as needed.
- Assist in development or training of OPIR analysts.
- Build and conduct OPIR-related presentations as requested.
- Develop OPIR related procedures and documentation.
- Provide product peer reviews or quality control on OPIR-related data as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree Engineering or related technical/business field or additional relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
- 5 years of experience working on DoD projects supporting operations, information, and/or engineering.
- 2+ years of recent experience in OPIR development programs familiar with the development lifecycle of OPIR programs, as well as the various producers and consumers of OPIR data.
- Demonstrated relationship with Missile Warning/Missile Defense customers and name recognition within the OPIR community.
- In-depth knowledge of DoD and IC OPIR enterprise; Missile Warning/Missile Defense, Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3); Overhead Persistent GEOINT Architecture (OPGA); Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS); Theater Event System (TES) / Integrated tactical warning attack and assessment (ITWAA) and National Defense Space Architecture (NDSA).
- Understanding of US Space Command (USSPACEOM), Space Development Agency (SDA), Space Systems Command (SSC) and Space Operations Command (SpOC) organizations and methods.
- Understanding of Space Command and Control (C2), Space Domain Awareness / Space Control, and the National Security Space Strategy.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- A current DoD TS/SCI security clearance is required.
Desired Skills:
- Advanced engineering degree is preferred, with relevance to space-based EO/IR or other remote sensing
- FORGE experience (government or contractor)
- Familiarity with major space system acquisition, development, and operations
