Corporate Finance Lead - Military Veterans

About this role:
The Corporate Finance Lead will serve as a direct report and strategic advisor to the Division Executive and is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and escalating IB opportunities with clients not targeted for IB coverage. This role will provide ongoing coverage in partnership with relationship managers on clients with qualified IB opportunities. Additionally, this role will help foster the education and development of IB product identification, assessment and client engagement for the division's leaders and relationship managers.
In this role, you will:
- In partnership with market leaders and relationship managers, identifying and qualifying merger and acquisition (M&A), equity capital markets (ECM), and debt capital markets (DCM) opportunities with CB clients which are not covered by CIB.
- Provide ongoing coverage of CB clients with qualified IB product opportunity, in partnership with and/or as a supplement to coverage by Relationship Managers.
- Active in client engagement with non-IB covered deal teams, including direct calling activity.
- Serve as an expert advisor on CB-led transactions with EMM, Middle Market and Mid-Corporate clients having enterprise impact, high risk or significant scope, including analyzing financials, presenting to clients, and coordinating with internal stakeholders.
- Responsible for development of market leaders and RMs on IB product identification and assessment during the deal life cycle including opportunity analysis and client engagement, including as player-coach to Mid-Corp RMs for clients which are not covered by IB.
- Ownership of IB dimensioning and organizing non-CIB covered prospects and customers account planning for a defined geography, including recommendation of CIB coverage at the appropriate stage in the IB opportunity life cycle.
- Strategically lead all levels across the enterprise to improve processes and risk control, resolve client issues while achieving Wells Fargo's business objectives, and represent the company externally; serve as an expert advisor to leadership, represent the company externally as an expert and act as a mentor for less experienced colleagues.
- Review, understand and offer the full suite of solutions offered by Wells Fargo to commercial clients to meet the most complex needs that may require an in-depth evaluation, by engaging product organizations to develop client specific solutions, leveraging a solid understanding of clients' businesses, strategic objectives, operational priorities, and financial positions.
- Strategically lead and support Business Development Representatives in sourcing new Commercial Banking clients, by cultivating relationships through your existing network.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Mid-Corporate Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, or IB product experience (M&A, ECM, DCM)
- 5+ years of experience in client coverage or other client-facing role(s)
- Strong understanding of all investment banking and corporate banking products including capital markets, mergers & acquisitions, and loan syndications.
- Credit analysis or credit underwriting experience
- Ability to lead through influence, drive change management, and coach Commercial Bankers at all levels and across client segments
Job Expectations:
- US only: Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position.
- FINRA Series 63 and 79 examinations, or equivalent must be completed within either a 90 or 180-day time period following commencement of employment, depending upon the number of license(s) needed if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
- This will be communicated at time of offer acceptance. Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory. In addition to state registration and licensing requirements, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply.
- Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA licensing review process at the time of offer acceptance.
- For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite is required
Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$207,900.00 - $431,900.00
