Materials Engineering Intern - Summer 2025

The Role:
Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a/an Materials Engineering Intern to join our team for the Summer 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 12-14 weeks in duration.
The goal of this internship role will be to fully characterize, test, validate, and create a recommendation for an alternative or new material selection. You will have the opportunity to interact with the product engineering teams to learn the key critical drivers to success for this material. You will also perform a full material search to find the best material candidates. This role will allow for the ability to interact with multiple groups within and outside of the organization all to drive to the goal of finding the ideal solution to a technical material challenge, which plays a critical role into next generation materials.
What You'll Do:
• Learn how material properties tie to product application needs and performance
• Successful evaluation of samples and material candidate prototypes
• Interactions with multiple groups both internal and external
• Learn the foundational requirements of materials needs for the Advanced Materials Handling Division
• Make data driven decisions based on hands on experience and analytical testing with the guidance of mentor/manager
• Learn how to use various pieces of analytical laboratory equipment including: TGA, DMA, DSC, and Rheometers

• Attention to detail and accuracy in data and analytics
Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
• Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Polymers Engineering
• Graduation date of Fall 2025 - Spring 2027
