You will be the Software Engineering Manager - Embedded for the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) team in Grand Prairie, Texas. Our team is responsible for designing, developing, and manufacturing precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Software Engineering Manager - Embedded, you will lead a team of software engineers, providing technical coaching and mentoring, work assignments, employee career development, and continuous ongoing feedback.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
• Providing technical coaching and mentoring to team members
• Supporting functional initiatives and directorate undertakings
• Coordinating employee recruitment, selection, and training
• Driving technical excellence, affordability, and program execution
• Supporting program development and execution of program requirements
• Promoting customer focus and serving as the technical conscience for the program

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must currently hold a DoD Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this position.
Basic Qualifications:
Must currently hold a DoD Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this position
- Bachelor’s degree, or greater, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent field with significant software development experience.
- Experience with embedded development using a real-time operating system using VxWorks/Linux and C++ .
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical systems/programs across multiple programs/product lines
- Process Improvement and Affordability experience
- Software engineering Management or Software engineering Team Lead experience including task planning, budget management, subcontract management and/or employee development and mentoring
- Experience in all phases of software development ranging from requirements analysis through code implementation and formal qualification testing.
- Can support routine domestic travel for government exercises and test events (~20% travel)
Desired Skills:
- At least 10 years of software development experience desired.
- Experience with C++ (version 11 or higher preferred) .
- Experience in software subcontract management is a plus but not required.
- Agile development
- Ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams
- Basis of Estimate (BOE) development
- Control Account Manager (CAM) experience
- Earned Value Management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior Engineering Management
- Proposal Development
- Strong business acumen, management influence and whole systems thinking
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Cameo beneficial.
- Working knowledge of Ada is desired.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
