Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - General Inpatient Medicine - Military Veterans

This Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Providing care to infants, children, adolescents and families including the management of acute and chronic illnesses requiring hospitalization on acute care medical units
  • Collaborating with the collaborating physician to conduct patient assessments, medical histories, physical exams, and diagnose health and developmental problems.
  • Participating in inpatient medical rounds, including the presentation of clinical information, the progress and management of patients, and assisting in establishing and implementing treatment plans.
  • Participating in or leading quality and safety initiatives
  • Offering expertise as consultant and educator to nursing staff.
  • Rotating 10-12 hour shifts on a per diem basis (minimum 4 shifts/6 week block).
  • To qualify, you must have:
  • A minimum of 2+ years inpatient pediatric experience with preference for those with experience in caring for higher acuity or higher complexity patients
  • 1+ year of Pediatric NP or PA experience preferred
  • Would consider new graduate nurse practitioner with recent pediatric inpatient RN experience
  • Master?s Degree with current NP or PA license, BLS and PALS certification
