Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Roll Mill Shift Supervisor is primarily, but is not limited to, a proven leader who communicates and enforces Nucor's safety policies and procedures along with supporting the goals of the division/department. This person will be required to lead, coach, and develop our teammates in all aspects of the production operation. They are also responsible for their personal growth and development while driving continual improvement in safety, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability. They must also be able to think strategically and make sure that we maximize the availability and efficiency of the department. The Shift Supervisor will be expected to actively participate in meetings and other activities before, during, and after regularly scheduled work hours. This role requires a teammate that has the ability to grow, embraces change, is innovative, and strives to continuously improve the overall team.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- One-year previous direct leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Three years' steelmaking production experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of Rolling Mill processes, equipment, and technology.
2. Associate or bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology or Business or equivalent work experience.
3. Open to relocation to support growth and needs of the organization.
