SUMMARY
The Quality Engineer for our BluVera Group is responsible for quality control processes on a project for assigned scopes of work and may work in partnership with more senior quality managers on larger projects; as well as managing, monitoring, reporting, and analyzing project quality performance and leading corrective/preventive actions for assigned scopes of work.
This position will be located at a facility in Monroe, LA beginning in February/March 2025. This person will need to relocate to the area without rotations home. We will provide relocation assistance for a family, if needed.

Responsibilities:
- Lead people:
- Foster strong teamwork orientation and be a resource for valuing and promoting diversity
- Build strong cross-cultural relationships and influence others internally and externally at all levels of the organization, resolving cross-cultural conflict in a culturally appropriate way
- Serve as a technical resource and guide for project team staff
- Incorporate BLUvera's quality system on one small to medium sized project or work in partnership with more senior quality managers on larger projects
- Partner with the project team and senior quality manager in the development and management of integrated plans and provide structure to the integrated planning process for assigned scopes of work
- Drive business results:
- Implement the Quality Management Plan and system for all assigned divisions of work from notice to proceed through final acceptance by the customer
- Prepare/review coordination drawings for assigned scopes of work
- Develop and understand subcontractor management including scope development and interpretation of plans and specifications
- Oversee the quality inspection of material and work put in place for assigned scopes of work. Interpret drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to determine compliance with contract documents.
- Conduct quality inspections of work put in place and identify non-conformances with project requirements
- Lead project quality control activities (3-Phase Inspection Process) and corrective actions for assigned scopes of work.
- Verify documentation of work put in place for division(s) of work assigned
- Track and expedite materials and submittals
- Track and document the quality of materials
- Manage Non-Conformance Notices (NCN) and the Request for Information (RFI) process through corrective actions
- Manage Quality Events and corrective actions.
- Identify and provide solutions to project specific issues based on knowledge, experience and outside resources
- Assign/manage preventive actions
- Capture and report impact of quality events
- Organize 3rd party peer design reviews and implement recommendations as necessary for assigned scopes of work
- Provide oversight for and coordinate 3rd party testing agencies for assigned scopes of work
- Manage the punch list identification and closeout process
- Assist with preparation of critical lift plans for project teams
- Participate in Kaizen and rapid process improvement activities
- Manage portions of a project specific Quality Management Plan for a small to medium sized project
- Manage single phases of work from submittal development through acceptance with minimal guidance from QM/PM/Supt
- Develop talent
- Train and manage project personnel on their roles, responsibilities, and processes to support BLUvera's Quality System
- Stay knowledgeable and up to date on all published technical and installation bulletins/guidelines for assigned divisions of work and equipment
- Provide training for field engineers assigned to the project
- Champion customer service
- Discuss and resolve technical issues with customers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Manage simple issues with guidance from the project manager or superintendent. Partner with PM, superintendent, and project team staff to resolve issues
- Ensure that design documents, project plans, means, and methods meet the customer's requirements and expectations
- Provide excellent service to enhance customer relationships
- Build for the future
- Understand the uses of standard work and capture best practices used on the project. Share best practices with the operating group by developing, authoring, and publishing best practices (and IWI's) for assigned scopes of work
- Identify opportunities to enhance margin and/or minimize risk through means-and-methods or material selection
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
Education and Required Skills:
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings in accordance with the specs of the product.
- Concrete experience is a plus.
- Using Procore or ACC software is preferred.
- Ability to conduct a constructability review, quality review of design documents, shop drawing review, and submittal review for assigned scopes of work
- Knowledge of the design-bid-build process
- Good mechanical aptitude and develop knowledge in use of large cranes, mechanical systems, and utility
- Self-starter, independent worker, computer literate
- Strong teamwork orientation
- Basic knowledge of construction processes, systems, and project management
- Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
- Bachelor's degree in construction, civil, or architectural engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum one year of experience within the design, engineering, construction or manufacturing industry
- Current driver's license
