Job Summary
To support production and troubleshoot activities on fully automated assembly lines for manufacturing, we're looking to add an Automation Engineer located in Austin, TX.
What a typical day looks like:
- Responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting automation equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Support automation cells and equipment including Co-bot, SCARA, gantry, gripper, torque driver, dispenser, conveyor, vision system and custom devices.
- Programming factory automation equipment (robots, machine vision, servos, pneumatics, etc.)
- Troubleshoot automated processes or equipment when errors occur.
- Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components.
- Create documentation for equipment or automation processes.
- Work with vendors and plant maintenance to ensure all automation equipment has appropriate spare parts, and a robust Preventive Maintenance plan.
- Perform the work listed in the standard operating procedures as well as work assigned by upper management.
- Communicate and interface with engineers, designers, and operations managers.
- Deploying systems at customer facilities and performing service work. Travel within the US up to 15%.
The experience we're looking to add to our team
- BS (and/or MS) Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- Robotics programming, at least one of these UR/Fanuc/Omron/Yamaha/Epson
- Experience with pneumatics, sensors or conveyors.
- Integration experience with custom automation or turn-key solutions
- Experience with vision systems, HMIs, and AMRs.
- Ability to use AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software program to create schematics or drawings.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external functional teams verbally, in writing, and via presentations.
- Ability to learn new technologies.
