Position Title: Assistant Coach/Assistant Director of Player Development Appointment Type: Contract Job Description: The Assistant Coach/ Assistant Director of Player Development supports the NCAA DI mens basketball program. The successful candidate will show a commitment to adhering to university, Big 12 Conference andNCAApolicies, procedures, and regulations. The position will report to the Head Coach and include the following responsibilities: Assist with planning practice sessions and competitive coaching situations Attend practices and games as part of the coaching staff Analyze scouting reports and pre-competition evaluations of opponents to provide effective strategy planning Effectively teach, mentor and coach to develop successful and well-rounded student-athletes Use film and advanced metrics to forecast and implement schemes(team and individual),provide recommendations for game strategy Collaborate in the evaluation of individual developmental performance goals, as well as the implementation of plans to fulfill those Define athlete strengths, analyze data, and create, modify, and execute individual development plans Chart athlete progress toward goals and meet with them 1 on 1 to discuss Build a relationship of trust and mentorship with athletes Closely collaborate with coaches, athletic trainer, and strength and conditioning staff to ensure player performance, growth, and safety Research and compile NBA player comparisons All other duties for the benefit of the basketball program as assigned by the Head Coach The ideal candidates should have solid knowledgeand skill working with modern basketball strategy,analyzing playersand schemes, contributing to individual development plans. Candidatesare expected to be committed to multiculturalismand working withadiverse student body. This position requires theability toattend eveningand weekend practices, meetings,and gamesand will travel with the team. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship. Required Qualifications Bachelors degree. Experienceasa college or professional athlete, graduateassistant, manager or coach in college or professional basketball. Experience analyzing players and contributing to player development. Preferred Qualifications Experience competing or working foraNCAAD1 mens basketball program. Working/playing for a professional men's basketball team and knowledge of the overseas experience. Experience using various basketball technologies including: Hudl & Hudl Exchange, Fast Scout, Fast Draw, Sports Code, Synergy Sports Video, Synergy Editor, Hoop 1 Media.
