Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced research professional with a full understanding of in-depth statistical analyses and / or research software programming techniques. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. The Research Data Manager will work under the direction of Co-Directors of the Center for Biosignal Research (CBR) (cbr.ucsf.edu) and the CBR Scientific Program Manager. The incumbent will manage existing and newly developed CBR databases, perform data extractions and database updates, perform data analysis and develop analytic pipelines for clinical information systems. They will work independently and in collaboration with faculty investigators to facilitate multiple research projects and CBR efforts. This includes advising on, assisting and managing the building of research datasets, organizing, cataloguing, and curating relevant data (such as data from NIH-funded cohort studies; CBR databases approved for FDA validation; data from digital health registries, including wearable-device data). The incumbent will maintain appropriate certifications, update data accordingly, work with external agencies to meet regulatory requirements and assure users are appropriately certified. They will manage the data to select requested databases and cohorts and translate the available data into analysis-ready datasets. They will work with the clinical systems within the UCSF Health system or other entities providing datasets to update databases and work with investigators to access and/ or extract new data as appropriate. The incumbent will have thorough working knowledge of computers to identify, make relevant recommendations about, utilize, update, and maintain systems to facilitate this work. The incumbent will also seek out an understanding of existing UCSF and CBR databases (become a local domain expert and liaison) and UCSF clinical systems to expand the data sources accessible for CBR research and operations. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $84,400 - $120,100 (Annual Rate).
