Job Summary: Join our team at PLNU and have a direct impact on the student community as a bus driver. Drive buses for PLNU events, provide exceptional customer service, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure the safety and readiness of our buses. Multiple Positions Available Schedules: 10-Month Position: August through May 12-Month Position: Includes paid vacation time Salary Pay Range: $24.00 - $26.60 per hour Internal Classification: Career Track - Support; Job Level - 4 Job Status: Full time *** Job Description: Key Responsibilities Drive buses for PLNU events, ensuring safe and timely transportation for students, staff, faculty, and guests. Perform preventive maintenance on buses and report findings to motor pool dispatch for follow-up. Pre-trip inspections include: Airbrake inspections Check fluids levels Check tires, incl. air pressure, etc. Cleaning of buses, report repair requests to motor pool dispatch Ensure that buses are road-ready and safe to operate Assist with the needed repairs Provide exceptional customer service that is characterized by warm, friendly and helpful to all PLNU students, staff, faculty and guests To have full understanding of all PLNU shuttle service routes Other duties as assigned Qualifications Must have a valid class B driver's license with a passenger endorsement, air brakes, good driving record and insurable. Must be service orientated in performing duties in a cooperative, efficient and energetic manner Ability to respond to changes in work schedule and assignments with short notice. Able to maintain professionalism at all times Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement. In addition, staff agree to live in agreement with PLNU's Community Life Covenant . The job offer is contingent on a clear background check and pre-employment physical. Must pass random alcohol and drug screening. Physical Requirements Ability to drive 4 hours at a time. Ability to assist passengers as necessary. Must be able to bend and stoop and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to respond to changes in work schedule and assignments with short notice.
