Light Driver Part Time (Must have CDL B w/Passenger Endorsement) - Military Veterans

This is a part time position with hours projected to be between 20 to 25 hours per week based upon projected candidate availability and program requirements. Candidates are required to submit their availability for the month at the beginning of each month and must be available for a minimum of two 10-to-12-hour windows of time each week.
The Driver is responsible for the safe operation of light, medium and heavy (if qualified) GSA and Tactical vehicles. Drivers are responsible for the safe operation of assigned vehicle to deliver passengers as requested by Government customers to destinations annotated on Trip Requests (USMA FORM 1-189) and duties as directed by Management. Responsibilities
- The safe operation and servicing of Transportation Motor Pool vehicles as follows:
Sedans/Vans (Standard: 15 Minutes, Pre and Post Check)
Checking fluid levels.
Vacuuming vehicle floor and seats.
Sweeping/mopping vans without carpeting.
Wiping down console.
Cleaning Windows.
Driving through Government Car Wash.
Fueling Vehicle.
Removal debris from vehicle floor, cup holders and compartment.
Checking for personal property left in Vehicle.
Buses/Airporters (Standard ½ hour, Pre and Post Check)
Sweeping Vehicle’s floor.
Mopping vehicle floor with clean water.
Wiping down console.
Cleaning Windows.
Driving through Government Car Wash.
Fueling Vehicle.
Removal of debris from vehicle floor, cup holders and compartment.
Checking for personal property left in Vehicle.
Taking cleaning supplies on the trip so that cleaning can be done during trips with waiting time.
Check of:
Fluid Levels (Oil, Transmission, Brakes, Power Steering, Coolant, Washer Fluid).
Leaks.
Drive Belts.
Battery Condition.
Mirrors.
Suspension.
All Lights.
Windshield Wipers.
Horn.
Parking Brake (for Buses and Tractor Includes 50-foot Brake Test, and Air Brake Test as per CDL Requirements).
Tires.
Steering Play.
Fire Extinguisher (Charged) (for Buses and Tactical Vehicles).
Coach Buses In addition to the above duties (standard ½ hour Pre and Post Check) (3/4 Post Check for Coach Buses if needed for dumping toilet).
Remove any garbage from the overhead luggage racks.
Empty bathroom garbage.
Stock paper towels and handi-wipes.
Dumping the latrine.
Wipe down the bathroom surfaces.
As directed duties by Dispatch/Management which may include cleaning vehicles, services, security, janitorial, snow removal, taxi dispatching, etc.
Mandatory overtime may be required.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
Minimum two years of recent bus driving experience, with a clear driving record.
New York State Driver’s License, CDL B w/Passenger Endorsement.
Current DOT Medical Examiner Card (must be able to obtain).
Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to follow oral and written directions.
Knowledgeable of and compliance with the laws and regulations applicable to the safe operation of motor vehicles.
Computer literate.
ability to maintain government ID.
Must pass a drug test.
