INFORMATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST II - (T222296)
Description
Responsible for the development, design, installation and maintenance of a department s networked computers. Assume sole responsibility as the systems or network administrator . Manages the technical aspects of the system/network. Provides user support by troubleshooting PC and Network problems, as well as acts as a liaison with personnel who operate the University Backbone Network . May supervise other technical support personnel, such as Computer Technicians and Information System Specialist I s performing routine maintenance, repair, troubleshooting or PC/Network operations duties.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots user and computer network problems.
- Conducts diagnostics remotely and on-site.
- Takes steps to resolve the problem with internal and external resources.
- Follow up with troubleshooting problems recorded on Pathology IT ticketing system.
- Assures that verbal requests received are properly recorded on ticketing system for tracking purposes
- Prepares and deploys new computer using existing computer managements deployment and imaging tools.
- Repairs, upgrades and image older computer to be re-used back into the lab and resident rooms.
- Install approved peripherals including scanners, printer, NV and portable devices.
- Monitors and maintains system supplies; installs, removes, relocates devices as required.
- Cleans, maintains, calibrates and makes repairs on department equipment and instrumentation as required.
- Maintains system/data integrity. Makes sure desktop and laptops worked on are secured.
- Queries system and generates standard production reports and/or ad-hoc reports.
- Interfaces with other IT groups to ensure connectivity, security, data integrity and optimal resource utilization contracts.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Annual Salary Range: $47,665 - $77,455
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Information Management Systems or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE. Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in Windows, Mac, and Linux Operating Systems.
- Experience with hardware, software, and networking.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and customer service oriented.
