The Georgetown University Medical Center Department of Pharmacology & Physiology is seeking outstanding candidates for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor. The starting date is anticipated to be the fall of 2025. Applicants should hold a Ph.D or MD/Ph.D degrees and demonstrate a strong history of scholarly activity and accomplishments in neuropharmacology or a closely related area. Preference will be given to candidates with research focused on molecular pharmacology and receptor signaling . The person in this position will be expected to develop a strong independent research program, secure extramural funding, collaborate with others in the department and institution and teach medical and graduate students, as well as mentor thesis and post-doctoral students. They will join an active department with a dozen faculty members focused on excellence in research and education. Research strengths in the department include systems neuropharmacology & neurophysiology, ion channel and receptor pharmacology & physiology, mechanisms of synaptic plasticity, and signaling targets in disease. We are a collaborative department, and our faculty recruit PhD students both from our PhD program in Pharmacology & Physiology, and Georgetown's Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience.

The Department provides a dynamic, interactive and supportive environment in which to develop and pursue research and new ideas. Prospective candidates should submit through Interfolio the following:

The projected salary range for this position is $129,630 - $135,000, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
