Senior EHS Analyst - Military Veterans

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Senior EHS Analyst to join our team in Woodridge, IL.
The Senior EHS Analyst supports environmental, health, safety, sustainability, and security efforts for all employees and groups based out of Eaton’s DIT Chicago operations in Woodridge, IL. Individual is accountable for supporting EHS activities including: achieving EHS objectives and targets, internal reporting of EHS performance, assuring closure of MESH and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis, and ensures plant level EHS programs, policies, procedures and systems are developed, implemented and sustained to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements and conformance with Eaton mandates. Position is also responsible for site security, supporting facility management, and enforcing a strong EHS zero incident culture that engages employees throughout the site in EHS teams and processes.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $80,250 - $117,700 a year.

Essential Responsibilities:
Champions and leads projects designed to effectively drive improvements in our “Zero Incident Safety Culture” program(s).Support EHS committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.
Facilitate risk assessments at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects. Work with leadership team to create targets and objectives based on key EHS risks.
Partners with other functional support/engineering teams to ensure plant projects, changes, upgrades, and modifications adhere to and meet the PROLaunch and MESH “Change Management” processes.
Supports the creation of EHS goals for the site and appropriate activity-based goals for the extended leadership team to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.
Uses established EHS data processes (such as MESH Prism) to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items, etc.
Manages site security and supports facility management, as needed.
Facilitates EHS engagement through EHS employee teams and committees (such as Safety Committee and Electrical Safety Team) needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year; facilitates safety-related kaizen events and weekly Gemba walks to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.
Compiles and analyzes MESH data for capturing in Eaton’s Safety database to include corrective action tracking and MESH scoring; produces data for monthly balanced scorecard based on MESH corrective action completion and incident rates.
Work with leadership team and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation (MESH self-assessment) of compliance of EHS local, state and federal regulations; Participate in the Corporate EHS assessment process.
Works to facilitate engagement of MESH (EHS management) element champions in their ownership of the MESH elements.
Pursue third party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton’s EHS program as world class.
Coordinate the training of all personnel in the required safety, health and environmental policies.
Evaluate jobs for possible ergonomic improvements (body mechanics, lifts, hoists, manipulators, etc.) and implement these work design changes.
What you'll do:
- Manage and direct site in achieving EHS targets & objectives.
- Facilitate risk assessments at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects.
- Work with leadership team to create targets and objectives based on key EHS risks.
- Assist with determining appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track performance against targets and objectives.
- Support creation of EHS goals for the site manager and appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, functional managers, and front-line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results.
- Work to assign MESH element champions and facilitate their engagement in ownership of the MESH elements.
- Drive and promote zero incident EHS culture throughout site.
- Create and facilitate EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.
- Work with leadership team and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations.
- Use established EHS data processes such as MESH PRISM to manage data such as injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, EHS action items and other pertinent information.
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental studies, manufacturing engineering, management/business, or a related technical field.
• At least 3 years of experience in Environment, Health, and Safety, with a background in warehouse or manufacturing environments.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Powered Industrial Trucks, Electrical Safety, and Ergonomics programs
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Comprehension of industry, state, and country EHS requirements
- Adept at utilization of company-wide system for reporting EHS data and information
- Ability to integrate EHS with other functions
- Ability to act as an agent of change; effective in enabling and driving change
