The opportunity:
We have an excellent opportunity to join our growing customer solutions focused company in the role of Compliance Manager, Global Information Governance. The Compliance Manager will be part of a team of legal and compliance specialists with a mission to deliver top-quality, strategic, cost-effective and creative solutions to mitigate risk. This role will serve as thought leader and principal resource on all matters related to records and information management, and will be expected to develop, implement, lead and manage Smurfit Westrock's global records and information management program across the enterprise. This role will work closely with various Smurfit Westrock business units and stakeholders and will serve on Smurfit Westrock's Privacy and Cyber team, reporting to the Deputy General Counsel responsible for Smurfit Westrock's privacy, cyber and records legal function.
The ideal candidate will have outstanding team-building skills, and direct experience in designing and implementing global compliance and records/information management programs, the ability to evaluate and develop a Global Records and Information Management Strategy, strong end-to-end process design experience, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and a successful track record of building out digital strategies for Global Records Management & Retention.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
• Lead the establishment, evolution and continuous improvement of Smurfit Westrock's records and information management policies, standards, procedures and performance measurements
• Direct the transformation of global records and information management programming to meet the challenges of a digital world and modern business management practices
• Participate in the development of records management training programs
• Support privacy and cybersecurity compliance and serve as a member of the Smurfit Westrock Privacy Office
• Partner closely with Smurfit Westrock's IT organization to build, monitor and maintain Smurfit Westrock's electronic records and information management architecture, including the design and implementation of electronic tools to support records and information management strategy and compliance initiatives
• Advise and in some cases lead record-related document management system development and implementation and litigation record-preservation systems
• Ensure all aspects of corporate recordkeeping adhere to the relevant policy and applicable law
What you need to succeed:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in any field that includes a focus on information management
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience working in records and/or information management
• Records or information management certification (CRM, IGP and/or CIPP) preferred
• Direct experience in designing and implementing global compliance and records/information management programs
• Successful track record of building out digital strategies for global records and information management, retention and disposal
• The ability to prioritize competing objectives in a fast-moving corporate environment
• Outstanding team-building skills
• Strong end-to-end process design experience
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with content management systems and databases
