We are looking for a talented Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Operations Manager to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Cummins Inc. facility in Memphis TN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Ensure Compliance : By maintaining a strong understanding of global import/export laws and regulations, you'll ensure the organization remains compliant, avoiding legal issues and penalties.
- Risk and Cost Reduction : You'll evaluate and improve processes to identify opportunities to reduce risks and costs associated with import/export activities, contributing to the organization's financial health.
- Advisory Role : Advising business units on best practices and new opportunities will help them operate more efficiently and compliantly, fostering overall organizational growth.
- Problem Resolution : Acting as a point of escalation for complex, non-routine problems, you'll provide solutions and resolve issues that could otherwise disrupt operations.
- Training and Development : Conducting training sessions on import/export topics will enhance the knowledge and skills of employees, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle compliance matters.
- Relationship Building : Maintaining and expanding strong relationships with governmental organizations and brokers will ensure the organization has the necessary support and documentation for smooth operations.
- Export Control Management : By developing and executing robust export control processes, including Restricted Party Screening, you'll safeguard the organization against compliance breaches related to defense and dual-use products.
- Leadership and Guidance : Providing guidance and direction on complex issues and delegating work assignments based on employee skills and development needs will promote a productive and knowledgeable team.
Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the organization's global trade activities are compliant, efficient, and cost-effective.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or equivalent degree or equivalent experience required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Significant (5+ years) relevant work experience, including supervisory experience, required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Information:
- This role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining: KPIs, performance objectives, reporting, evaluation criteria, and stakeholder presentations.
- The selected candidate will be the subject matter expert related to Foreign Trade Zones within the United States (implementation, daily operation and compliance).
- Provide oversight of our outsourced resources performing Foreign Trade Zone activities.
- Provide leadership to Foreign Trade Zones Trade team.
