Project Management Principal-1 - Military Veterans

Responsible for overseeing and/or leading Enterprise strategic programs and/or initiatives. The role requires a strategic focus on building capability roadmaps, executive-level communication, and business-to-tech translation to support enterprise-wide initiatives. The position involves managing cross-functional collaboration and ensuring program alignment with overall business objectives. This role is critical for fostering agility, delivering on strategic goals, and driving continuous improvement within the organization. Essential Functions

About the Role - This position is part of the Corporate Initiatives Program Management team, which supports the strategic programs of FedEx Corporation by facilitating and executing initiatives critical to the long-term success of the organization.

  • Oversee the implementation of strategic projects across operating companies and services by facilitating various work streams and implementing program management processes, tools, and techniques.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to ensure the realization of program benefits while leveraging best practices to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Provide high-level visibility to senior management on program status and progress.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced team members to build future project management capabilities within the organization.
  • Lead and oversee strategic programs and initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and adherence to deadlines.
  • Implement IT project management processes, including development, testing, and agile methodologies, to deliver innovative solutions that improve operational performance.
  • Collaborate closely with IT senior leadership and business stakeholders, working with contributors from Vice Presidents to enterprise-level team members.
  • Apply financial acumen to assess and manage project budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in clearance, airline, and warehouse operations while adhering to internal policies.
  • Drive optimization efforts, including Jason sort, linehaul, pickup and delivery, FedEx route optimization, and sorting platform improvements.
  • Work alongside a team of 7–8 professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment to achieve program goals.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management, ensuring transparency and visibility into program progress and challenges.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced team members, helping them build their project management skills and contribute to program success.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills to oversee complex, multi-functional projects. - Expertise in IT project management, including agile methodologies and testing processes.
  • Advanced communication skills with the ability to present to executive-level stakeholders
  • Financial acumen to manage budgets and ensure fiscal discipline in program execution.
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation, logistics, and operational optimization.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in airline and warehouse environments.
  • Proficiency in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a high-stakes environment.
  • Collaborative team player with experience working in cross-functional teams to achieve program goals.
  • Familiarity with the transportation and logistics industry is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading multi-functional projects or programs.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in airline and warehouse environments.


Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree, in computer science, engineering, information systems, or business administration and/or equivalent.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years equivalent work experience in information technology or business environment.

Domicile Information

This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need. 


Preferred Qualifications:  

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the salary information represents the job level minimum. and the job level maximum. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job, and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision, and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.

Pay: US Monthly range: $8,007.29/month - $14,413.11/month
