You will be the Mechanical Design Engineer for the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) team. Our team is a recognized designer, developer, and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries, and you will be joining one of the largest networks of engineering professionals, implementing cutting-edge technologies on both existing and new development platforms.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for performing production support, collaborating with manufacturing teams, and resolving technical issues. You will work on a variety of projects, including the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) Missile and GMLRS launch pod. Your responsibilities will include:
• Performing production support and technical supplier support for GMLRS production
• Collaborating with manufacturing teams and suppliers to resolve production issues
• Engineering design and drawing revision and release tasks
• Working under the direction of a senior lead Design Engineer
• Collaborating with supporting functions, such as Stress Analysis, Materials and Processes, Test, and Production

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and design software for part and assembly design, and associated configuration management tool for managing engineering data and documentation.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
• Experience in creating detailed engineering drawings in compliance with ASME Y14.100 standards.
• Solid knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Detail-oriented with a focus on process and quality.
Desired Skills:
• Proficiency in PTC Creo for part and assembly design, and Windchill for managing engineering data and documentation.
• Previous experience in a Material Review Board (MRB) role, particularly in a production setting.
• Familiarity with the transition from development to production, including the resolution of design issues and optimization for mass production.
• Experience in mechanical design (preferably production phase) in aerospace or a similar industry.
• Prior experience with Lockheed Martin programs or similar defense contractors is a plus.
• Experience in working with, and providing technical oversight, to subcontracted suppliers
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
