Power BI Developer - Military Veterans

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Power BI developer to join the BSIRRM technology transformation initiatives. This position will be the Business Intelligence expert on the team supporting implementation and adoption of Power BI across the team. They will support various aspects of Power BI implementation like data modelling, semantic model creation and maintenance, governance, and user interaction.

Treasury at Wells Fargo is a dynamic team that is responsible for managing Wells Fargo's balance sheet including capital, liquidity, funding, and interest rate risk management. Treasury seeks to ensure Wells Fargo always maintains sufficient capital and liquidity resources to support growth in the Company's businesses, while also ensuring a satisfactory financial cushion exists to protect against unforeseen stresses in the economic environment or the Company's operations. Treasury also provides regulators, senior leaders, and the Board of Directors with key information to support risk management, financial performance management, and strategic planning

Balance Sheet and Interest Rate Risk (BSIRRM) Group performs quantitative analysis of the balance sheet behavior and has primary responsibility to measure interest rate risk (IRR) and design corresponding risk mitigation strategies. Team members oversee the IRR simulation models, provide management with insight concerning changes that they see in the risk profile, and contribute to the generation of risk management strategies.

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions, crafting and executing queries upon request for data, and presenting information through reports and visualization to stakeholders
    • Report Development: Design and develop interactive and insightful Power BI reports and dashboards to support business decision-making processes
    • Data Modeling: Create and manage efficient data models using Power BI
    • Data Analysis: Analyze data to discover trends and patterns and generate data-driven insights
    • Performance Optimization: Optimize Power BI reports and dashboards for performance
    • Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions promoting operational excellence and ultimate customer satisfaction
    • Training and Support: Provide training and support to other report developers and end-users on Power BI functionalities and best practices.
    • Documentation: Document technical specifications and maintain Power BI reports
  • Be responsible for complex reporting and analytics on treasury finance metrics
  • Ensure accurate recurring deliverables are completed and compliant with various treasury risk management regulatory requirements
  • Ensure data quality and establish controlled processes
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, Corporate Risk Management and Model Governance teams as well as outside parties including regulatory agencies, accounting and consulting firms
  • Make recommendations to more experienced group members and management
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with internal customers
  • Receive direction from leaders and exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements


Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of Treasury experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience with Power BI and other business intelligence tools, SQL, Excel, and DAX
  • Hands-on experience in data integration and data modeling in Power BI
  • Strong proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
  • Experience with implementing governance (production deployment, change management, security) frameworks for BI reporting
  • Experience managing user interactions and training
  • MS Fabric
  • Undergraduate studies in information systems or computer sciences
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Superior customer service skills, and ability to work in a team-based environment, manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize tasks
  • Superior critical thinking skills, fast learner and willing to take on new challenges
  • Detail oriented, accurate, organized, excellent judgment
  • Knowledge of financial institution balance sheet fundamentals, product offerings, and balance sheet management practices
