Chemical Engineering Intern - Summer 2025

The Role:
Our site in Bedford, MA is seeking a/an Chemical Engineering Intern to join our team for the Summer 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 12-14 weeks in duration.
The prospective intern will help Entegris in developing novel polymeric membranes for different separation applications. The development involves optimizing the properties of membranes by trying new membrane formulations and membrane processing conditions followed by characterization of the developed membranes.
The intern will greatly benefit from this program by learning about the fundamentals of membrane formation, which involves major chemical engineering disciplines including transport phenomena, thermodynamics and reaction engineering. The prospective intern will also learn how to think rationally toward solving a problem as well as how to carry out systematic research.
What You'll Do:
• Lab scale formulation and preparation of polymer solutions for membrane casting
• Lab scale fabrication of membranes by hand-cast immersion precipitation process
• Characterization of hand-cast membranes in terms of FT, BP, retention, SEM, etc
• Pilot scale development of membranes on the immersion cast pilot line
• Characterization of the developed pilot line membranes

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:
• Experimental work experience
• Knowledge and experience with formation and application of polymeric membranes
• Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE)
Desired Major(s) & Graduation Year:
• Chemical engineering, Chemistry, Material Science
• Graduation Year: 2025 or later
