Responsibilities

About the role

The Graphic and Video Support Specialist II is responsible for overseeing the logistics and development of graphic and video content that is primarily used to communicate directly to GM Financial's internal audience. The team member is responsible for partnering with other Corporate Communications team members and stakeholders to develop engaging and effective graphics and videos that are aligned with the department's strategic objectives. The team member is also responsible for both measuring and tracking the effectiveness of content shared with GM Financial's various audiences and managing the graphics/video calendar throughout the year.

In this role you will:

  • Manage the creation and delivery of Corporate Communications video and graphics projects to ensure they are delivered on time and meet or exceed expectations of business partners.
  • Propose new, creative and interesting approaches to video projects that enhance messaging
  • Increase number of short videos produced to accompany and enhance other channels (eg, intranet, email, Viva Engage, GMF 360 internal publication, gmfTV) in a timely manner
  • Participate in collaborative brainstorming sessions with fellow creative team members and business partners, with original ideas as well as those that result in multi-channel design solutions that align with strategies, initiatives and projects
  • Track and report overall graphic and video production of the Corporate Communications team
  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of video projects and propose strategic solutions to increase audience reach
  • Partner with Marketing, when needed, to ensure larger video projects are planned in advance and completed according to schedule

Qualifications

What makes you a dream candidate?
  • Proficiency with relevant design related applications within the Adobe Creative Cloud environment, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, After Effects
  • Thorough knowledge of digital video and graphic content, both pre and post-production
  • Comfortable directing and advising subjects during video recording process.
  • Experience in internal communications, advertising, mass communication or related discipline
  • Experience with editing and producing primarily short-form video content
  • Proficient understanding of corporate branding with the ability to design within an established system of brand guidelines
  • Demonstrated creative experience, knowing how to take an idea from concept to execution
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and clients
  • Comfortable presenting new concepts and final deliverables to business partners

Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience required required
  • 3-5 years in communications, preferably with strong graphic and video qualifications required

OUR BUSINESS & OUR HISTORY

GM Financial was founded as AmeriCredit in September 1992 and opened its first branch office in Fort Worth, Texas. On October 1, 2010, AmeriCredit Corp. was acquired by General Motors Company and renamed General Motors Financial Company, Inc. (GM Financial). In 2011, GM Financial acquired FinanciaLinx to serve GM dealers and customers throughout Canada.  In November 2012, GM Financial announced the acquisition of Ally Financial Inc.’s international operations. The majority of those acquisitions were finalized in 2013, with the remaining market, a 35 percent equity interest in a joint venture in China, acquired in January 2015.  In October 2017, GM Financial completed the sale of its European financial subsidiaries and branches as part of General Motors’ sale of the Opel and Vauxhall businesses to Peugeot S.A.

 

GM Financial provides auto finance solutions to 14,000 dealers worldwide, with earning assets of $93 billion at September 30, 2018.
