Aerospace Technician II – Integration (B Shift) - Military Veterans

As part of a small, passionate, diverse, accomplished, and rapidly evolving team of experts, you will assemble major launch vehicle structures, secondary structures, and other spaceflight systems. B Shift (4x12): Monday - Thursday 5pm - 5am







Responsibilities:





  • Manufacture, assemble, and test New Glenn (GS1) First Stage Booster according to written procedures, engineering requirements & safety procedures.


  • Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment.


  • Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections of engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures.


  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance.


  • Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations, and other ground support equipment as required.


  • Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, height gauges, and optical measuring instruments.


  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency.


  • Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD control.


  • Ability to work off-shift, extended overtime, and weekends if/when vital.


  • Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision.


  • Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and background.


  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.








Qualifications:





  • 2-4 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field.


  • Ability to work over time.


  • A sense of urgency in completing daily tasks with a strong aversion to idleness.


  • Experience in at least one of the following is required: fluids and tubing install, instrumentation, and electrical harness routing, general Aerospace/Launch vehicle assembly.


  • Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.


  • Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and backgrounds.


  • Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and person.


  • Basic digital literacy such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.


  • Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas.


  • Work at Heights on work stands and in lifts.


  • Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 35lbs.


  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion


  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.








Desired:





  • Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field.


  • Proven success as a “hands-on” technical leader.


  • Work optimally with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities.


  • Continuous improvement attitude. Our job is never complete; we are always refining and improving.


  • Intense curiosity for understanding the details of our business and how to optimize it.


  • Experience in handling large aerospace components.


  • Experience in assembling large tight-tolerance structures.


  • Experience in new product introduction.


  • Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment.


  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.


  • Military experience.
