Facility Safety and Security Specialist - Military Veterans

General Information:
Assist a dedicated team of HSSE professionals with promoting a safe, secure, and sustainable workplace. Work directly with operations and other personnel to reduce security risk, respond to emergencies, manage contractor access to the site, support improvement actions, achieve factory objectives, and ensure activities are compliant with corporate, customer, and regulatory security requirements.
Your Responsibilities:
- Assist with evaluating and implanting security programs to ensure a safe & secure workplace.
- Provide oversight and direction to contracted security team.
- Review and improve programs for emergency response and contractor management.
- Assist with the organization's compliance with all applicable corporate, customer and regulatory requirements.
- Help maintain and execute the HSSE management systems with a focus on the physical security and emergency response programs.
- Conduct security related audits and inspections.
- Assist with investigations and root cause analysis.
- Follow-up on improvement actions to ensure completion and effectiveness.
- Provide suggestions for improvement of HSSE programs, procedures, and training materials.
- Responsible for assisting in HSSE strategic planning to help move the organization towards

Your Background:
- Two years of full-time security related experience with some leadership responsibility.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Self-motivated and organized.
- Willing to attend professional development training internally and externally.
- Problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and ability to work with digital solutions.
- Team player and approachable.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Two or four year degree in an HSE, security, or law enforcement related field.
- Any security related certification
- High comfort level with digitized management tools.
- Experience with represented workforce.
- Bilingual: English / Spanish.
