A Civil / Structural Engineer is needed for a global engineering, construction and project management company in the Oak Ridge, TN area. This role involves providing advanced Civil/Structural engineering support for construction projects, including design, analysis, problem resolution, and mentorship, with a focus on steel and concrete structures, technical coordination, and compliance with industry standards.

responsibilities:
- Provide support for field engineering activities during ongoing construction projects.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction teams to review and coordinate technical documents.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor project-specific tasks and activities.
- Conduct constructability reviews to ensure designs are optimized for construction feasibility.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers to enhance their professional development.
Skills:
- Expertise in designing complex steel and concrete structures independently.
- Skilled in using structural analysis software (e.g., GTSTRUDL, SAP 2000).
- Experience with CADD applications, including MicroStation and Tekla.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Engineering deliverables such as drawings, specifications, and material requisitions.
- Construction methods for steel and concrete structures.
- Familiarity with workflows of other disciplines on projects.
- strong verbal and written communication skills to express technical issues clearly.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural/Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- In lieu of a degree, 15 years of relevant experience is acceptable.)
- 9 years of progressive experience in Civil/Structural engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility to obtain it within 12 months.
