Crimp and Prepare Technician - Military Veterans

The Crimp and Prepare Technician specializes in high volume, fast termination processes for basic Audio and Video cable termination. Cable Technicians are encouraged to take ownership of their work, manufacturing a high quality product in a timely manner. Effective communication with the department Team Leader will continuously establish and improve quality on the assembly line. On-the-job training will be performed by the C-SHOP Team Leader to assure all cables are assembled properly. Tower Products Incorporated provides employees with state of the art manufacturing equipment, tools and procedures for the processing of coaxial and other types of cables.








C-SHOP Crimp and Prepare Technician Requirements:





  • Reference the list of jobs to complete for customers’ orders and stock replenishment.


  • Run the cable prepping equipment.


  • Reference assigned jobs from the Hit List and locate the corresponding work order job using the work order number and assembly part number.


  • Review and proceed with formal work order assignments with an associated Bill of Material for the job at hand.


  • Kit the cable, connectors or components in accordance to the B.O.M. Components are picked according to bin locations, part numbers and quantities.


  • Inspect and test work according to quality system requirements.


  • Complete work which is turned into the Quality Control Department with accompanying paperwork. Work is expected to be accurately assembled to the correct standard, soldered or crimped properly and signed off on the hit list with time and date.


  • Knowledge of basic cable assembly and manufacturing purposes.


  • Should possess prior experience in soldering or hand tool assembly work.


  • Learn manufacturing systems used for inventory picking, work order material bills, inspection and testing procedures, basic soldering procedures, crimping procedures and various procedures for tubing materials and cable processing.


  • Pull all components listed in the product material bill according to the bin location, part number and quantity.


  • Able to lift up to 75lbs (employees are instructed regarding safe lifting practices and are required to seek help when lifting anything that is too heavy regardless of the weight or size.)


  • Employees must be safety conscious and we request that all manufacturing employees wear eye protection and wash hands when shifts are completed.


  • Communicate effectively with all departments.


  • Refer to manager or team Lead for assistance if required.


  • Read and follow the Employee Manual and the Quality Policy Statement distributed by Tower Products Incorporated.


  • Always take PRIDE in your work.

    Key Responsibilities:



    • Provide mechanical inspection and basic continuity testing before submitting work for final test and approval.


    • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in detail-oriented jobs, accuracy with numbers and part numbers.


    • Maintain a clean and organized work station and adhere to all guidelines for PPE, tool use, etc.


    • Consistently demonstrate excellent organizational skills, ability to access information from the computer system, attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication and the ability to efficiently manage time.
