Managed Services Field Tech 1 - Military Veterans

The Managed Services Field Technician is responsible for installation, modification, repair and maintenance of voice, video and data cabling systems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Physically install Category 3, Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6 and Fiber Optic Structured Cable Distribution Systems.



• Installation of outlets, pulling cable, fire stopping and pre-termination including organizing, forming, dressing and labeling cables to industry standards.



• Terminate, assemble and install 8-pin modular connectors and coaxial connectors, light crimp connectors and optical fiber ST and/or SC ceramic connectors.



• Accurately test copper and fiber (multimode and single mode) cables to required certification parameters utilizing appropriate test equipment as required.



• Diagnose and correct copper and optical fiber problems.



• Removal and demolition abandoned cables.



• Maintain and reference industry standards including ANSI, EIA/TIA, and local and National Electric Code.



• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/ or Experience:

• BS/BA in related major or equivalent experience.



• 0 – 4 years in a network and/or server tech support role.



• Must have good time management skills and be able to meet rigid and urgent time schedules.



• Solid communication and organization skills to collaborate with internal staff and customers.



• CCENT, CCNA, MCSA, MCTS certifications a plus.

• Ability to travel 20%.



• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
