Security System Insallation Technician - Military Veterans

General Overview:

The Installation Technician’s primary job responsibilities are to correctly install the various hardware and software technologies sold by the company across the various divisions of Security, Voice, Cabling, and IT (racking switches, etc.). The installation technician should have 2+ years of commercial (business) security system installation experience to include Alarm Systems, Video Cameras, Access Control systems, CAT6 cable installation, including termination of jacks and patch panels.

The Installation Technician will be responsible for properly logging work time in the company ERP system, tracking tickets, driving and properly maintaining company vehicles, handling inventory items, pick-up and delivery of materials, and other duties as required. You will be working in teams or solo and must be able to work independently with little supervision.

Work hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. A minimum 40-hour work week is expected with the ability to work overtime on occasion as needed. The predominate work zone is the greater Hampton Roads area, but some out-of-area and overnight travel within Virginia will be required on occasion.

Installation Technicians are responsible for providing all of their own hand and basic power tools needed for the job along with consumables such as blades, drill bits, etc. Tools required include power drill, power grinder, power saw(s), screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, sockets, tone generator, crimp tool, etc. Full safety gear is required. Specialty tools will be provided by the company.

Other:

The candidate must possess a current VA DCJS registration or be able to renew an expired registration. A clean criminal background check and a non-restricted driver’s license with a relatively clean driving record (no reckless, no DUI) are required.

Pay: $23.00 - $35.00 per hour
